How do we grade our balls?
All of our balls are found in the woods and hazards of New England golf courses, live on camera. These are not from pond dredging/draining like other lost golf ball sites! Here's how we process them...
Washing π§Ό
After finding our golf balls, they are brought back to the house for cleaning in our commercial ball washer. We then attempt to hand wash any baked in dirt, so they can be accurately graded.
Sorting π§ββοΈ
We separate the balls into 3 categories (Premium, Good, and Junk), then sort by manufacturer and model.
Grades π―
-
Premium π₯
- Cover: Urethane only
- Condition: Mint -> Light Scuffs
Note: Balls in this category have no damage that would affect flight and are ready for tournament play!
-
Good π₯
- Cover: Ionomer or Urethane
- Condition: Mint -> Light Scuffs
Note: Urethanes in this category may be refinished, refurbished, or do not meet the condition requirements for Premium but are still fully playable.
-
Junk π₯
- Cover: Ionomer or Urethane
- Condition: Scuffed -> Damaged
Note: Balls in this category are driving range quality, and may have damage that would affect ball flight.
Keep in Mind π€
All grades may contain balls with player markings, custom logos, discoloration, or stubborn dirt
Color and pattern balls will appear in these grades at a rate equal to current inventory levels (~15%)
Each grade will be a mix of manufacturers and models
Specific balls are not guaranteed in any grade, they are divided equally based on what we find each hunt!
